The warehouse management software SuPCIS-L8 is already successfully active in 14 countries. Each warehouse in these countries has its own processes, each industry has its specific requirements, and yet there is something that affects the logistics world-wide: digitally connected customers and the booming e-commerce. Digital trade sets new cycle times, rules and standards for logistics. The new SuPCIS-L8 modules provide intelligent strategies such as KPI monitoring or real-time visualization of vehicles to meet the demands of modern logistics.


Meeting trade challenges

E-commerce continues to be a rapidly growing sector, which is challenging, advancing and decisively influencing the logistic developments of our time. But also the interplay of the different channels (stationary, online) presents new challenges for the logistics of many companies. That is why the S & P software engineers have developed some new SuPCIS-L8 features specifically for retailers:

An ever-wider range must not lead to either a shortage of storage capacities or a too complex process. Many companies offer non-stock merchandise, which is procured externally by order. With the new features of the warehouse management software SuPCIS-L8, the user is given the maximum bandwidth of processing options for non-warehouse goods. An example of this is the further developed cross-docking, where the identification, picking and packing treatment can take place immediately with a few product scans.

 
Many wholesalers provide the regional customers with port markets, which are connected to regional warehouses. Here, fast access to warehouse goods with direct sales at the counter while maintaining stock stability is essential. SuPCIS-L8 offers retailers simple processes with mobile data capture to ensure short order lead times and easy return of unsold merchandise.

Improved tour planning in SuPCIS-L8 is taken into account when there are critical situations in the delivery due to resource shortages, for example, if orders are likely not to get on the planned tour. In consideration of the order load in the further process, the WMS automatically decides whether a change of to the picking strategy is possible.


KPI monitoring

The demand for the service that companies should now offer in the logistics sector is constantly growing. With shorter delivery times and individual handling, customers demand the highest possible flexibility with reliable stability. With a new module for KPI monitoring, the warehouse management system SuPCIS-L8 offers an opportunity to meet precisely these requirements. The module enables the setting of various targets, e.g. "All orders received by 2 pm will be sent by 5 pm". This goal can be broken down into several service levels (80% of the orders sent by 4 pm). By linking to the SuPCIS-L8 cockpit, the control room staff is informed in good time if a service level threatens not to be fulfilled. By analyzing stored data, SuPCIS-L8 not only contributes to the achievement of the service goals, but also provides the proof later on.

 

Visualization of vehicles and buildings

Key figures are important in every warehouse and the SuPCIS-L8 Cockpit always keeps these in view. However, important information can be grasped and understood by the human brain much faster if it is depicted graphically. This is why S & P has developed a new module for the SuPCIS Warehouse Viewer, which enables the live visualization of vehicles and employees in manual warehouses as well as the visualization of automated warehouse technology. The statuses are displayed dynamically. In addition, sensor information as well as active faults from several PLCs can be displayed via the new module.
